My kids aren't the only ones heading back to school ...
 it's Author Visit Season! 
And I have the shiny new calling cards to prove it. 

Summer

I've had the best summer ever, thanks to a bunch of fabulous family trips. Exhibit A: That's me doing tree among the trees in Colorado. I'm happy to be home but it sure was hard to leaf (heh heh heh...) 

Full Disclosure - I fell off my platform right after this was taken. I am eager, if not athletic. 

Summer Time Story Hour

Calling all Vero friends (and, you know, anyone else with kids who lives nearby)...
I am signing books and cooking up lobster crafts for
Lucy Loves Sherman this Friday at the fabulous
Vero Beach Book Center's
10:30 am story hour.
So take a break from the heat and swim on over - blub, blub!

National Lobster Day!

Yes it's a real thing! And, as a proud lobster lover, I suggest you celebrate this special day.

Here are a few suggestions:

(1) Free a giant old lobster, like these people did! 

(2) Buy LUCY LOVES SHERMAN and read it to some briny, spiny buddies down at your local fish market. Or children. Read it to children.

(3) Look at pictures of dogs dressed up as lobsters on the internet, like this one:

But whatever you do, do not EAT any lobsters - well, at least not any named Sherman.

Bear Hugs and Boats

I mean literally. This is what I am going to put in my body as a meal (well, not the WHOLE bottle...) while my children dine on butter pasta. Thank you so much to my amazing agent Kathleen, the wonderful folks at Disney-Hyperion, and my crit partners. I want to bear hug you all! Actually I want to bear hug strangers at this point.

(Sidebar: Okay so I googled bear hug and found this and I had to share it because it is what my heart feels like. Plus I can just picture me and my Toblerone bar all nestled up in there.)
